Welcome to my website. I am an artist, illustrator, writer, and reviewer. My paintings and illustrations are primarily in watercolor and my style varies from realistic to whimsical. I admire the watercolors of John Singer Sargent and Winslow Homer for their command of technique and sense of light. Like them, I love to work en plein air. My writing, like my art, runs the gamut from realistic to whimsical. I have written profiles of celebrated craftspeople as well as personal essays about craft and I am a professional children’s book reviewer. My own children’s book manuscripts have subjects that vary from a child finding a home in nature to adventure sailing stories, to particle physics for middle graders. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Connecticut and a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing for Children from Simmons College.
